Fascination
I am not an architect but everyday I interact with their products. Architects design buildings to be used by humans. And we do use it, we life there, we make our homes there. But as architecture affects us in this way, how did the architects envision their constructions being used by us? For this, I looked at something constructed before construction started, the architectural drawings.
In architectural drawings a lot of information is contained. It does not only show the proposed construction, but also drawn or photographs of people and the surrounding area. The majority of architects I have contacted in a survey said these figures are for scale and functions. Scale to indicate how large the building will actually be and function to indicate what users can do there. Is that all that these figures denote though? What are the effects of using these images? Do they fit in the real world?
